Um...can you believe this weather we are having in west michigan? 60° and sunny....in February?! We will take it...every second of it! This past weekend was gorgeous, and today the weatherman says it should be the same....it feels like Waco, TX...ok, ALMOST anyway!
Has spring really sprung????
Probably not, but a Michigander can dream!
This past week when we were planning for today's post, it reminded me of one of the cutest things we got to see at Magnolia. It was Joanna's Seed and Supply store and her little wooden greenhouse!
While we were walking around the gardens and checking out the greenhouse, I met the lead gardener. She was a sweet lady, lived in Waco with her family, and got her dream job because her best friend was a friend of Joanna's and she also worked at Magnolia....it sounds like that's how Chip and Jo like to hire people....friends of friends etc!
She was telling us how it was such a gift for her to be able to work there after raising her 4 kids and only having a high school diploma...but still getting her dream job after all these years! I explained that I could feel something "different" here at Magnolia, I could almost feel God's presence.
She looked at me....( I instantly thought she was going to walk away or call me crazy!)...and she looked around abit, and then she looked directly at me and said, " that's great, He is here!"
I kid you not, the hair stood up on my arms...she said it so matter of fact!
She went on to explain that is what they as employees feel at Magnolia ...they spend time together as employees praying over Magnolia, asking for God's blessing and His presence....
I was blown away, this is a retail store with a really great bakery....not a church. They aren't "preaching it" they are "living it"...
In her little garden area, she is letting God's light shine by planting and nurturing one flower at a time....kind of like God does in our lives right?!
He plants us where he wants us...he feeds us, loves and cares for us...sometimes even uproots and transplants us...
We come in all types...all shapes and sizes...but we are all beautiful in His eyes, useful in His plan....and together we all make up His beautiful diverse garden!
So.. this week we have been transforming the barn into spring....it has been fun to see all the bright colors and cute things and the barn is starting to come to life!
