"LOVE your neighbor"....

This has been a very chilly week and so we have been spending our time organizing (mom) & sewing (marcy). Next week it looks like we will have a "heat wave"....ok, it might hit 32....yeah....so we will post some pics of the new things we have in the barn... check back next Friday!

So what have I been busy sewing????
Of course a few fun things for the barn, but most of my sewing time has been devoted to a project making pillowcase dresses for little girls around the world!

I (marcy), am a volunteer high school youth leader at my church and our youth girls LOVE to do crafts!  This is a great "problem" to have,  but seriously. .. how many crafts / things do we really need for ourselves???? Why not share our LOVE for crafts and projects and share with someone that could truly benefit???
So....we decided to make pillowcase dresses for some little girls that otherwise would not have one!
I set a very high goal......50 dresses by May!!!

We have a couple girls that know how to do a little sewing,  but most are learning.... and since I only have two hands,  we asked some of our "quilting" ladies and other leaders from church to help...it has been great to watch these ladies interact with the students. ... these ladies have been such a blessing!

As of today we have 39 dresses completely finished. ... and 36 in process!!!! We have updated our goal....100 dresses!
That is... 100 little girls... living in orphanages that will recieve a beautiful, handmade dress with some fun little trinkets in the pockets and lots of prayers!
I wish we could hand deliver the dresses, see their huge smiles, and hug each and every one of them....but I know we can't.
God calls us to "Love or neighbors" even if we can't see them.
How can you help?????
Very simply. ..PRAY.... please pray that we can meet our goal (100 dresses is alot of cotton,  elastic, thread, time, energy,  etc).... and please pray for each little girl that will recieve a new dress... pray that whoever these little girls are, no matter their circumstances,  that they will feel God's love, and a little love all the way from Forest Grove, MI!
~blessings!
